Are you able to leave the museum and come back in? I have a friend who is arriving at a different time and I'll have his ticket. Would I be able to leave to get him and come back in?

As I have not done this I can’t say for certain. But if you have tickets, and you’re friendly to the staff, give it a go.
Can I skip the line at the side entrance, on Exhibition Rd, if I have a pre-booked time slot? Or must I use the main entrance off Cromwell Rd?

I believe you still need to use the main entrance..however there are two queues. One fir pre-booked tickets and another for people without. I hope this helps :) enjoy your time here …
