A preliminary 3.5 magnitude earthquake struck Monday morning near Lake Almanor in Northern California, according to the United States Geological Survey.

A magnitude 3.6 earthquake shook an area of northeastern California near the town of Quincy on Monday morning.

The quake was reported at around 4:05 a.m., with the epicenter about 37 miles from Ejido Doctor Alberto Oviedo Mota, the USGS said.

The United States Geological Survey reports a preliminary magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck near Almanor, CA on Monday. The quake hit at 7:03 AM local time at a depth of 6 kilometers. There was no initial word on damage or injury resulting from the quake.
