Held in honor of Gordon Parks’ continued legacy through the Foundation, the glittering event included a historic auction, awards and star-studded crossovers.

The 2024 Gordon Parks Foundation Gala took place Tuesday (May 21) at New York City’s Cipriani 42nd Street, where Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, Colin Kaepernick, artist Mickalene Thomas, former chair of the NAACP Myrlie Evers-Williams, and actor Richard Roundtree, posthumously, were honored.

This year’s gala for the Gordon Parks Foundation raised close to $2.3 million, and drew out Spike Lee, Colin Kaepernick and Ben Stiller.

The Tuesday night event also honored Mickalene Thomas, Myrlie Evers-Williams, and the late Richard Roundtree, who starred in Parks' film "Shaft."

The singer sported a sequined Dolce & Gabbana pantsuit consisting of a double-breasted overcoat featuring silk lapels and high-waisted wide-leg trousers. Underneath, Keys wore a bedazzled bralette, completing her look with a sleek wide-brim hat, black pumps, diamond earrings and an emerald cocktail ring.

Though Alicia Keys occasionally attends events with makeup today, she opts for a natural look, only lightly accentuating her eyes or lips. As a pioneer of the "natural" trend in American showbiz, the singer recently attended a charity gala in New York City.
