As the National Weather Service prepared to issue a tornado warning Thursday night that included downtown Houston inside the Loop, forecasters also revised a severe thunderstorm warning that bumped up wind estimates to 80 mph and added a “destructive” tag that would activate alerts on cell phones in or near the warning area.

A National Weather Service Pittsburgh damage survey team confirmed an EF1 tornado, with max wind speeds estimated at 105 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service confirmed Saturday that an EF-0 tornado with winds of up to 70 mph struck the Harrison City area of Westmoreland County on Friday. Teams were out Saturday in the daylight to gather data and evaluate the damage at four suspected tornado sites,
