Dvok's symphonic poems are a unique and vibrant collection of works that are both visually and musically captivating. Neeme Jrvi's readings of these works are more deliberate than usual, with a grand lushness to them. The Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Czech Philharmonic provide excellent performances, with the latter's rendition of the Homeland Overture being the most idiomatic. The acoustic version of the recordings is most unfortunate, but the recordings are still highly recommended.
